The whole package

We will also talk about and try lots of different food. By the time you have completed the six weeks you will be able to prepare the food, order takeaway presenting the food nicely and know how to be a perfect host. We will also talk about thank you notes, washing up and clearing away at the end of your party.

Come Dine with Me

As a part of the programme adults with learning disabilities will have the opportunity to experience a come “dine with me” meal that is pre prepared for them. This will form the first stage of the process. Participants will at first be invited to come to dinner and during the dinner will be helped to think about what has gone into making the event work.

The second group for our Food with Friends

Fully integrated solution

As part of the meal, the participants will be invited to consider the food they are eating. Table mats and coasters will show the food types, the nutritional value and the calorie count. The place mats will also come as puzzle pieces so that participants can swap the food groups to make up their own meals. This will help them to consider the food they buy and cook for their meals and provide information for them to make healthy choices for meals. Participants will be able to discuss and order take away meals, consider eating out options and on the last week of the course, be taken out to dinner to put all their new skills in to practice.
