This week we are having a take away meal so we need to choose the food and order it first so that there is time for it to be delivered.  We have some examples of take away food for you to consider and the numbers and menus of local takeaway providers for you to look at.Once the food is ordered let us look at what you have to do to order a take away meal.

  • Firstly you need to know what takeaways are in your area
  • Then you need to have a copy of the menu either a paper copy or be able to look it up on line
  • You will need to call and order the food
  • When it is delivered you will need the right money to pay the delivery person
  • You will still need to consider what you will serve the food in and have laid the table

If you are going to go out to eat what things do you need to consider?  Next week we will go out to eat so lets think through what we need to do

  • What are the options of places to eat?
  • Can we afford to eat there?
  • Do we all like that type of food?
  • Can we all get to the venue and home again easily?
  • What time shall we meet?
  • How shall we get there?
  • When we arrive do we need to have booked a table and if so what do we need to do? Ring up, tell them what day, time and how many people are going to be there
  • Where shall we meet? At the front door, inside or near by?
  • What are we going to wear, is it an occasion to dress up in our best clothes?

When we go out for a meal as a group sometimes one person will go up and give the orders for everyone, sometimes the waiter will come and ask you individually what you want and take your order.  The same manners are needed when eating out.At the end of the meal though you need to pay.  Again sometimes you have one person pay for everyone and sometimes each person pays individually.  Often you need to consider whether you leave the person who has been waiting on your table to serve you a tip.  This is usually about 10% of the overall bill for the food.If there is a bar at the restaurant you may need to bring your ID if you do not look over 18 and you would like to have alcohol!Sometimes after a night out at a nice restaurant you will call a taxi to take you home.  It is always good to have the telephone number of a local firm so that you can call them if you need them.
